These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of OBD2 Australia ‘s Website and products, located at https://obd2australia.com.au/. By completing a purchase, a buyer accepts and agrees to all the Terms and Conditions mentioned here and will adhere to them unconditionally.
By accessing this website and or completing a purchase, you accept, agree and adhere to these terms and conditions unconditionally. Do not continue to use OBD2Australia if you do not accept, agree and unconditioanlly adhere to take all of the terms and conditions stated on this page. A buyer also agrees to have fully read and understood the product description and limitations of a product/s they are intending to purchase, and agrees not to contest, challenge or dispute these limitations once they encounter obstacles with their product/s caused by such forewarned limitations.
The following terminology applies to these Terms and Conditions, Privacy Statement and Disclaimer Notice and all Agreements: “Client”, “You” and “Your” refers to you, the person log on this website and compliant to the Company’s terms and conditions. “The Company”, “Ourselves”, “We”, “Our” and “Us”, refers to our Company. “Party”, “Parties”, or “Us”, refers to both the Client and ourselves. All terms refer to the offer, acceptance and consideration of payment necessary to undertake the process of our assistance to the Client in the most appropriate manner for the express purpose of meeting the Client’s needs in respect of provision of the Company’s stated services, in accordance with and subject to, prevailing law of Australia . Any use of the above terminology or other words in the singular, plural, capitalization and/or he/she or they, are taken as interchangeable and therefore as referring to same.
Unless otherwise stated, OBD2 Australia and/or its licensors own the intellectual property rights for all material on obd2australia. All intellectual property rights are reserved. You may access this from obd2australia for your own personal use subjected to restrictions set in these terms and conditions.
You must not:

This Agreement shall begin on the date hereof.
Parts of this website offer an opportunity for users to post and exchange opinions and information in certain areas of the website. OBD2 Australia does not filter, edit, publish or review Comments & Reviews prior to their presence on the website. Comments do not reflect the views and opinions of OBD2 Australia ,its agents and/or affiliates. Comments reflect the views and opinions of the person who post their views and opinions. To the extent permitted by applicable laws, OBD2 Australia shall not be liable for the Comments or for any liability, damages or expenses caused and/or suffered as a result of any use of and/or posting of and/or appearance of the Comments on this website.
OBD2 Australia reserves the right to monitor all Comments and to remove any Comments which can be considered inappropriate, offensive or causes breach of these Terms and Conditions.

You hereby grant OBD2 Australia a non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, edit and authorize others to use, reproduce and edit any of your Comments in any and all forms, formats or media.
Use of items
OBD2 Australia will not be responsible for any misuse of products that are outside of their control. We sell a number of technique products that require understanding to use and with a wide range of vehicles covered there are many variables outside of our control. OBD2 Australia will not be responsible for any damage caused to any equipment that our products are used on, if such damage is caused by user error or negligence.
Delivery and ownership of the goods
We try to ensure that all Products are delivered in a prompt and timely manner. However, from time to time, it is possible that shipping and other factors outside of Our control may result in delays. OBD2 Australia does not accept any liability for loss or damage suffered by anyone as a result of any such delays.
Should a customer return a faulty item and demand a refund (whether the fault is verified or not), the said item immediately becomes the property of OBD2 Australia. Only when a customer has permission to dispose the said item may a customer do so. Customers are advised to NOT DISPOSE of any sent replacement or original unit unless otherwise advised by OBD2 Australia.
We endeavour to post out all orders on the same day they were received if done before our cut-off time (12AM AWST, weekdays only), however there are times we may experience unforeseen delays, so your order will be posted the next business day.
The date of dispatch listed on the Website is the estimated date of dispatch as is reasonably estimated by OBD2 Australia. Customers are permitted to cancel their Order and receive a refund or store credit at any time prior to dispatch of the Product(s). Orders cancelled after dispatch will be subject to our return policy.
Where a Customer gives written authority for Products to be delivered without a signature, any and all included insurance cover will be voided.
Note that ALL OBD2 Australia orders require a signature (whether it be physical, digital or contactless) upon delivery.
OBD2 Australia is not responsible for the delivery times of Products. Once Products have been dispatched, it is the Customers responsibility to liaise with the courier nominated by OBD2 Australia (as notified to the Customer) in relation to date and time of delivery. OBD2 Australia shall not be liable for any inaccuracy of information provided to Customers relating to the date and time of delivery.
COVID-19 SHIPPING NOTICE: COVID-19 is causing delays. A possible delay of 1 – 3 (or more) business days may be expected on all types of shipping methods. We do not refund Express/Overnight postage costs that have been affected by delays.
Returned/Failed Delivery Parcels
In the event a parcel is returned by AUS Post to OBD2 Australia due to issues with the address or the receiver, and the buyer requests redelivery, a $12 fee (which is the AUS Post Returned Parcel Fee) and an $8 redelivery fee must be paid (as the order is no longer eligible for Free Shipping; and will be sent via Standard Post)($15 if buyers opt for Express Post). If the buyer decides to have the order cancelled and refunded due to it being returned, OBD2 Australia will deduct $12 as well as applicable restocking fees from the refund as this is now considered a change of mind purchase. It is the responsibility of the buyer to enter the correct shipping details to ensure their parcels are delivered to the correct address, as well as it is the buyer’s responsibility to stay updated of delivery dates and times as sufficient information regarding tracking is provided by OBD2 Australia.
For StarTrack orders with a failed delivery, the redelivery fee is $30. Should a buyer decide to cancel an order after a failed delivery, the refund will be subject to applicable restocking fees AND a returned parcel fee of $30 which is charged by StarTrack. Also note that the initial Overnight Post fee will not be refunded.
Expedited Shipping Cost and Insurance
OBD2 Australia will not refund any Expedited Shipping cost (and insurance) for items that are returned for the following reasons:
- Change of mind.
- Incorrect or incompatible (without or against OBD2 Australia advise).
- Refused orders.
- Affected by delays.
- No one at home to receive/unresponsive recipient.
Transit Cover/Shipping insurance is available as an add-on at $2.50 per $100 value (items below $100 in value are still insureable for $2.50). Should you wish to add insurance, please let us know prior to purchasing via Live Chat or E-mail.
As tracking details are stored only for a maximum of two months since generation, all items not received, lost or damaged while in transit MUST be reported within a MONTH from the date of sale. Reports done after this prescribed time and period will not be honoured.
The warranty of your device may vary (see product description). The warranty effectivity date will start on the date of purchase. Replacements come with the same original warranty as the initial product that was replaced. A replacement will not add to your warranty life; it carries over the effectivity of the original warranty. We reserve the right not to offer a refund or repair where the item fault is a result of misuse, abuse or neglect.
Faulty or damaged goods
OBD2 Australia will repair, troubleshoot, replace or refund faulty or damaged products in accordance with the Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. All items damaged by shipping must be reported within 7 days from delivery. A report of a damaged good/item after this time frame will no longer be honoured.
OBD2 Australia will refund the full purchase price or replace the product if it is proven to be faulty and only when the buyer has sent clear and sufficient video and photo proof* showing the fault. If the item is sent back without this proof it will need to be returned in a good as new condition, and a applicable restocking fees will be deducted from the refund. OBD2 Australia tests all returned items whether this proof is provided or not, and if upon further testing we are unable to replicate or prove the fault, restocking fees will apply (even when any proof is sent). We reserve the right not to offer a refund or repair where the item fault is a result of misuse or neglect.
*Note that even if photo and video proof is provided, OBD2 Australia reserves the right to demand the item to be returned to be tested, to validate the claim.
OBD2 Australia will advise troubleshooting when necessary to remedy an issue with an item. If a customer refuses to troubleshoot and decides to return an item without troubleshooting and with or without proof, a 10% restocking fee will be deduted from the refund. Only when troubleshooting measures are exhausted and when the item is proven to be faulty (conditions above) will a full refund or replacement be issued.
Warranties are voided if the item/product damage/fault is found by OBD2 Australia to have been caused by user error, negligence or misuse of the item.
“Not as described” items
Claims of items that are ‘not as described’ require photo and video proof to justify the claim. Each OBD2 Australia product has a limitation indicated on the description, and it is the buyer’s responsibility to be aware of it. False claims of ‘not as described’ on returned items will incur applicable restocking fees on the refund and will fall under the ‘change of mind’ category. All claims of ‘not as described’, when proven, must be returned immediately within 3 business days upon claim validation or instruction of OBD2 Australia. If not returned within this time frame, you refund will be subject to applicable restocking fees. If an item is really ‘not as described’, why hold on to it for long if it’s not working as intended?
For claims of goods that are ‘not accurate’, ‘does not work accurately’, ‘wrong/false readings’, these must be reported within one month from date of purchase (which should be sufficient enough for a user to determine inaccuracy). Photo and video proof will be required to support/justify your claim. Note that claims done more than one month after date of purchase will be subject to additional and thorough scrutiny, to deter use and return abuse. OBD2 Australia reserves the right to decline a return, refund or replacement for items claimed as ‘not accurate, ‘does not work accurately’, ‘wrong/false readings’ if more than 30 days have elapsed from date of purchase.
OBD2 Australia ensures that all order quantities and items are correct prior to dispatch. In cases where some items or components are missing from your order, we require photo proof of incomplete orders immediately after tracking shows as delivered. If not reported immediately, OBD2 Australia will not refund nor replace claims of lost/incomplete items.
Items that are marked as ON BACKORDER will be posted as soon as the item in question is back in stock. When a buyer selects Expedited Shipping for an item that is ON BACKORDER, the buyer FULLY UNDERSTANDS that the Expedited Shipping option will only apply when the backordered item is already in stock.
Returning A Replacement
If a buyer decides to return a working replacement for an item that was initially defective (whether or not a prepaid shipping label was provided), and demands a refund, a 50% deduction will be applied on the refund as this is now considered a ‘change of mind’ purchase. The return must be done within 7-days from the date of delivery of the replacement.
Returning for Fault Inspection
If a buyer decides to return an item for inspection to determine/validate and claimed fault/s, or if a buyer is asked to return an item for inspection, and if there are no faults found, the buyer agrees to:
- Pay for the cost of returning the item to the buyer if they wish ($12).
- Pay our inspection fee of ($15) per item.
- If the item is found to have no faults after inspection and the buyer demands a refund instead of the above, the inspection fee of $15 per item will be deducted from the refund, as well as a $12 return shipping label fee (if a return label was provided by OBD2 Australia) on top of applicable restocking fees (50% if a replacement was sent, and if either the original and replacement or both were damaged due to misuse, neglect or user error).
The item/s must be returned in excellent condition and in original, undamaged packaging. In the event these are not met, the refund will be subject to a 50% deduction (applicable only if the item is tested and confirmed to have no issues/faults or if the issue/fault was caused by user error or abnormal use). Refunds are voided if the item is returned intentionally damaged.
Use only AUS Post standard shipping, and provide us with the tracking number so we can keep track of its return progress. The refund process can be delayed if no return tracking details are provided. OBD2 Australia limits postage refunds (if applicable) of up to $12 only, so keep postage receipts or show us a copy. Only items confirmed as faulty due to factory defect are eligible for postage refunds.
The inspection process may take 1 month from the date the item is received, so please be patient.
OBD2 Australia will refund the purchase price of the item (if an item is found to be faulty by factory defect after inspection and a buyer demands a refund) and postage costs incurred to send the item to us provided a buyer is able to provide a receipt. Postage costs without a receipt will not be refunded. We reserve the right not to offer a refund or repair where the item fault is a result of misuse or neglect. Please note that this is all in accordance with your comsumer rights that a seller has the right to impose such fees for items damaged due to misuse, abuse or neglect, or a result of user error/no faults (which are considered a change of mind purchase).
Returning Used Items
OBD2 Australia will not accept returned items that are used/unused and due to change of mind, if it’s more than 30 days after purchase. We hope our customers understand that we are a small and growing business, and not a large corporation that can just write-off and absorb use and return abuse. Your supporting of a local, Australian business is greatly appreciated.
Applicable Restocking Fees
It costs OBD2 Australia to process, pack and ship your item, and test once returned. To cover these costs we impose a restocking fee for items returned due to ‘change of mind’, ‘incompatibility due to product limitation or failure to read product description’ or going against/no OBD2 Australia advise in purchasing items that end up being incompatible. Fees vary per item value, and are deducted PER ITEM (if an order has multiple items) so please see below for the matrix.
$1 to $69: 30% of actual value/listed price
$70 to $149: 20% of actual value/listed price
$150 to $499: 10% of actual value/listed price
$500 above: 7.5% of actual value/listed price
By actual value/listed price we mean pricing on the product page, and not the value/price on your invoice after discount or with no discount.
Cancellation of Sale and Contract
OBD2 Australia reserves the right to cancel a sale/contract anytime between the customer and seller should the latter suspect any fraudulent claim/acts being done by any customer. This applies to items not yet dispatched, returned or returned for testing. We do not tolerate acts of fraud.
30 day Money Back Guarantee
The 30 day money back guarantee ONLY applies to products that have been unopened, unused and undamaged. In other words, to qualify for this guarantee the product must be in impeccable condition, resalable and must be returned at your cost, inspected and deemed to be in impeccable condition by OBD2 Australia prior to the refund being issued. Note that to qualify for this guarantee you must report and return the purchased item within 30-days from date of purchase, and that applicable restocking fees will be deducted from your refund (see change of mind clause below). Defective/incompatible/’not as described’/’not working’ items are not eligible for this guarantee and will be instead subject to their own clauses as found on this agreement.
Change of Mind and Incorrect/Incompatible Products
At OBD2 Australia you have 30 days from date of purchase to return your purchase for a partial refund*, full store credit or exchange (order value will be subject to restocking fees) as long as it is returned in a saleable condition and with original proof of purchase. The refund will be provided using your original payment method.
By saleable condition we mean that the item hasn’t been opened or used, is still in its original packaging and all manuals, packaging and accessories are included. In the event a buyer returns an item that is incomplete, showing signs of abuse, neglect and misuse, OBD2 Australia reserves the right to not refund the buyer and should the latter demand for the item to be sent back, postage fees will apply ($12). The item/s must be returned in excellent condition, unused and in original, undamaged packaging. In the event the above are not met, the refund will be subject to a 50% deduction. Refunds are voided if the item is returned damaged.
If you can’t provide proof of purchase we will be unable to provide you with store credit or a refund.
*Note that refunds for returns due to change of mind or incorrect/incompatible item ordered (without or against OBD2 Australia advise) must be returned within 30 days from the date the item was received, and will be charged applicable restocking fees (which will be deducted from the refundable amount)(shipping at your cost; refused parcels will be charged $12 on top of the applicable restocking fees for AUS Post, $35 for Overnight via TNT). In cases when expedited shipping is chosen for the original order, the shipping cost will not be refunded and applicable restocking fees will be deducted from the refund on top of the expedited shipping cost. If a buyer opts for store credit instead of a refund, the restocking fee will not apply. We reserve the right not to offer a refund or repair where the item fault is a result of misuse or neglect.
OBD11 RETURN POLICY:
OBD2 Australia will NOT ACCEPT any change of mind returns for OBD11 once it has been opened and/or activated.
MAXI ECU Return Policy:
OBD2 Australia will NOT ACCEPT any change of mind or ‘incompatible’ returns for MAXIECU once it has either been opened and activated. OBD2 Australia will validate via testing all MAXIECU defective returns, and such returns are subject to our Returns and Testing Policy as indicated on our Terms and Conditions. Any attempts to tamper the device or falsify a return reason will void your OBD2 Australia MAXIECU warranty.
Regardless of reason, all returns must be posted to OBD2 Australia. We do not accept returns that are dropped off in person, at the warehouse. Returns dropped off at the warehouse will be refused and in the event a customer insists and leaves their return (despite being told not to), OBD2 Australia reserves the right not to process the return nor offer a replacement/refund. You also release OBD2 Australia and Keepspace from liability should any untoward incident happen with your item/s, if returned in this circumstance. OBD2 Australia also reserves the right to mail back any return dropped off at the warehouse, and a $15 charge will apply (to be deducted from the refund, if applicable). Should a customer refuse delivery of their return, a returned parcel fee of $12 will be deducted, on top of the $15 postage charge.
Refund Turn Around Time
Refunds are processed right after returned items are inspected and deemed to be in good working condition. Usually, this takes 3-4 weeks after tracking shows delivered, so please be patient.
Exchanges are allowed only within 30-days from date of purchase, and they must be returned in good and saleable condition (item and packaging). By saleable condition we mean that the item hasn’t been opened or used, is still in its original packaging and all manuals, packaging and accessories are included.
Third-Party App/Software Purchases
In regards to apps we suggest in multiple places on our site that you purchase the free app then get a paid app. We do not refund paid app purchases.
OBD2 Australia will provide customer support for all products OBD2 Australia sells. Support may be limited to hardware only on some products. Our support channels are, for now, only via Live Chat or E-mail. By checking out and completing your purchase, a buyer agrees that support is limited only to these channels. Our Live Chat function is available on weekdays, 8AM-4PM AWST. Due to the volume of e-mails we receive per day, we strive to respond to them within 6-hours during business hours, so please bear with us. All e-mails and chats are processed in the order they are received. All messages left during out of office hours will be responded to on the next business day.
Discount codes/coupons are randomly e-mailed or generated to random customers. OBD2 Australia support has no option to generate codes/coupon at will. All discount codes/coupouns must be applied prior to completing a purchase. OBD2 Australia will not refund the discount value after a buyer completes the purchase should they fail to apply it. Discount codes/coupons may be subject to a minimum purchase amount, and may be subject as well to a maximum purchase amount. Coupon codes are only valid on orders done on the OBD2 Australia website.
Abuse and Karens
OBD2 Australia will not tolerate verbal abuse or any form of foul, vulgar language. Our Customer Service representatives will refuse assistance to any customer who is abusive in any way.
Be advised that OBD2 Australia is not a Karen friendly store, and will not tolerate any sense of entitlement from Karens or any form of abuse. It does not cost you to be nice nor to behave like a decent human being. Behaving like a spoiled brat and throwing tantrums and threats will not get you what you want.
